Fashion Designer and Co-Founder of Good Material.
Natalie is a beloved founder and editor of Good Material Mag and RMIT Fashion graduate whose range of talents can only be compared to those of a magical time-travelling unicorn. Other than being a grade-A designer and fashion practitioner, she has also dabbled in web design, blogging, film, photography and illustration, all of which enrich her work, conveying a very distinct and tenacious voice. Her practice stems from a passion of challenging fashion ideals (and stealing her boyfriend’s clothes), and is reflected through her practice, as she takes on the most tightly bound sector of fashion: menswear. She uses self-developed tailoring techniques that feature modern silhouettes and detailed hand work. The combination of traditional techniques and Natalie’s defiant view on gender and clothing result in super cool, urban collections that feel both sharp and traditional yet relaxed and innovative. She achieves the impossible, a perfect balance of contradictions both technically and conceptually. Natalie is a relentlessly hard working, heart of gold gal whose potential is endless, and we can’t wait to see what she produces this year and in the future.
